This course is designed to create immediate performance changes by using a “nuts and bolts” approach to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to lead more effectively beginning immediately. The material follows a progression of topics that result in a comprehensive understanding. Students begin with learning how to better manage relationships and their own emotions by identifying emotional triggers in the Emotional Intelligence module. This provides a foundation for understanding generational psychology needed for the Leading the Generations module. Next students learn the art of Facilitated Leadership to develop a mastery of directing team discussions with an ethic that truly seeks the best result for all stakeholders. The course culminates with Positive Coaching and Effective Counseling methods.
Emotional Intelligence 1 Day (8 Hours)
Why am I feeling so hurt, or so angry? If you have ever asked yourself that question or asked that about someone else, this module holds the answers for you. First, students develop a specific understanding of their own, and others’, deep emotional triggers. Then attendees develop real-world strategies to prevent, respond, and manage those triggers. Finally, attendees will create positive, proactive strategies to use immediately that leave others feeling fulfilled. These are skills absolutely needed for the workplace, classrooms, and at home.
Leading the Generations 1 Day (8 Hours)
When I become a supervisor I’ll never do it like that! At some point you have likely said that, but are people now saying that about you? Managing like you wished you were managed is usually not the right answer because the worker characteristics have changed. In this module students identify what shapes generational traits and then develop specific strategies to manage, teach, and work for each generation. Attendees will walk away with skills to be applied immediately.
Facilitated Leadership 1 Day (8 Hours)
This leadership strategy is far from the haphazard democratic method with which it is often associated. Facilitated Leadership requires a mastery of directing team discussions with an ethic that truly seeks the best result for all stakeholders. When it is used in conjunction with the positive reinforcement coaching model, the leader is able to eradicate team deficiencies (over time) using the collective experiential and cognitive worth of the whole team. This generates buy-in and ownership by team members and the solutions created are vetted by the leader and everyone involved. In this module attendees will run facilitated meetings to demonstrate their ability in this strong yet pliable leadership style that is organizationally loyal and results-oriented.
Positive Coaching Model RRAC© 1 Day (8 Hours)
The least successful coaching session is the one that never occurs. How many teachable moments are lost because students or coworkers shy away from performance scrutiny? In this workshop we will focus on what you want for your coaching legacy then move towards becoming the most effective coach in the classroom, workplace, and at home. Students will demonstrate positive coaching and develop long-term coaching strategies. These are life skills that have broad application beyond the workplace. Attendees will practice proven techniques and leave ready to positively affect all those around them.
Effective Counseling 1 Day (8 Hours)
No manager enjoys having to counsel employees, yet sometimes even the best leadership strategies fail and corrective action is needed. Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to apply proven counseling models and the technical skills needed to make the sessions effective.
